Monique Barns

​I'm Monique, and I look after marketing and communications for Stopgap in Australia. My career spans communications, marketing and brand management across private, government and not for profit sectors, with experience on both the client and agency side. That breadth has shaped the way I approach brand storytelling, audience engagement and how organisations show up with clarity and purpose.

I’ve worked across the full spectrum of above and below the line activity - from digital campaigns to large-scale outdoor, including bus wraps, train station advertising and integrated brand rollouts. My work has included property branding, sponsorships, uniforms, social content and everything in between. Industry-wise, I’ve partnered with organisations in luxury home delivery, legal services, veterinary and animal care, professional services, accounting and health insurance.

At Stopgap, my focus is elevating the stories behind our work - the talent we meet, the businesses we support and the genuine relationships our team builds every day. I manage our brand direction, content, campaigns and social presence, ensuring our voice stays warm, human and reflective of our values.

Outside of work, I’m usually exploring Sydney with my daughter, discovering a new café or heading towards the ocean whenever I can. The beach is my reset button - a place to think, breathe and find perspective. I also love good design, good food and finding small pockets of beauty in ordinary days. Blending creativity, clarity and care is what guides me - and what makes my work at Stopgap feel meaningful.
