THE COMPANY:

Our client has been a major force in Australian drama since its establishment in 1978. The Company presents an annual season of diverse productions. They offer audiences an electric program of Australian plays, interpretations of the classic repertoire and the best of new international writing. They are now looking for a Donor Communications & Campaigns Manager to join their Philanthropy department.

THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Director, External Relations & Private Giving, the main responsibilities include:

  • Develop, implement and maintain a strategic communications plan that delivers the philanthropic case for support, engages donors as central to the storytelling and creates a link with theatre and current social / cultural issues.
  • Manage a timetable and work flow to ensure that donor communications and any relevant campaign elements are integrated into broader marketing / communication cycles
  • Create motivating content for digital and printed material. This includes writing copy for programs and brochures, creating online magazine articles, producing video content, and other collateral
  • Develop, manage and implement effective communications to the general annual donor pool
  • Develop, manage and implement personal and specialised communication and engagement cycles for one-to-one storytelling relevant to lead donors or donor syndicates
  • Consider, develop and implement tactics to graduate donors to higher, more conscious levels of giving
  • Look for opportunities, collect data, stories and evidence that will enable donor reporting, program profiling and demonstration of donor impact
  • Work with the Major Gifts Manager and Donor Insights & Operations Manager, to update donor acknowledgements in print, onsite and online
  • Report dynamically on campaigns and fundraising targets

YOU:

  • The ideal candidate will have at least 8+yrs fundraising experience, including managing a team
  • A strong track record in delivering donor revenue goals and positively growing donor conversion
  • Experience in developing and managing direct mail fundraising communications and associated campaigns
  • Strengths in data led decision making and ability to use donor insight to inform the strategy
  • Strong customer database experience with the ability to analyse and segment existing customer bases
  • Excellent communication, relationship management and negotiation skills and the ability to occassionally work at weekends
